If anyone asks what my desert island beauty product would be, it is lipbalm, without hesitation. There is rarely a time when I don't have at least two on me at a time: one on my desk, in my bag, on my bedside table. Also, it's quite a frugal treat. Better to be addicted to £8 lipbalm than Jimmy Choos, right?!
My Top Five (and it doesn't include 8 hour cream!):
- Lucas Paw Paw: I was always told this was good, and then I tried it. I have had a tub on my desk which has lasted over 4 years (and still going). It is made purely from crushed fruit, so is free from Petroleum. I used to get my friend from Australia to send, but realised they stock it £12 on cultbeauty.co.uk
- Smith's Rosebud Salve: I must admit, when I first stumbled upon this on a trip to NYC, I fell in love with the packaging. But this gleamy lipbalm is more than just a cool retro tin. I love the minty rose fragrance of this flavour, and now Anthropologie has moved over to our shores, and also stocked in American Apparel, it's so much easier to get hold of.
- Kiehl's Lip Balm #1: ever so lightly glossy, but absorbs like a dream.

which is perhaps why I love them even more...that, and the
gorgeous Art Nouveau tin decorations. I pick them up in bulk
from Malaga airport whenever I go.
5. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm: I had to have a good old
'stick' lipbalm in here, and for £3, what a treat! It is
quite a dry balm, but rich in vitamins and sunflower and
peppermint oils, so feels both tingly and soft on your lips.
They are also working on an exciting collaboration, which I
shall let you know about soon!

Adore this post it made me smile - l am also obsessed with lip balms. I stock up on the gal collection at Malaga too. I get a little raised eyebrow from my boyfriend for spending 40 Euros on lip balms. But they are gorgeous & worth it x
ReplyDeleteI still have some really old Perfumeria Gal tins from before their redesign - they last so well!
DeleteSmith's Rosebud Salve is my absolute fave but I might be tempted to try the Lucas Paw Paw.
ReplyDeletePlease do! It is seriously up there with rosebud salve, great on cuts, burns etc too
