Crafts are cool

It has only recently come to my attention how many great craft blogs there are out there. And they aren't all about re-working a naff Arran jumper. And so I thought I'd share a few of my faves...

This has been launched by my friend, freelance Art Director and one half of the book 'Everything Alice' (a fab Arts and crafts book based on 'Alice in Wonderland'), Christine Leech. The vegetable Dolce-inspired earrings? Yep, they were hers. And I love that she is as obsessed with stationery as much as I am. I was impressed with her recent post about notebooks, and then realised they were designed by Christine and her book co-creator, Hannah Read-Baldrey!

This blog is by Hannah Read-Baldrey, the other half of 'Everything Alice' and a prop stylist I have worked with on Red magazine. I am currently enamoured by the Seasonal Crafts section, whereby you are shown how to make everything you'll need for a jubilee celebration.

An so do about 6,000 of her other blogger followers. It is so chic and what I love the most is that her DIY projects are never naff and always really current.
My favourite post is her two-tone shoe project:

A friend showed me an article once about cheap tricks in interior design from The Guardian and I was intrigued. I love her embroidery and typography...
