Editor's Tips

Transform otherwise plain outfits with a few crafty touches. For a budget-take on the Equipment embellished collar silk shirt I love so much, I pin earrings to the collar of my blouses (there are always cute ones for mere pounds in places like River Island, Topshop, etc.). I also love buying lengths of ribbon from Liberty to tie in a bow at the collar of shirts or around the waist of dresses, and pinning vintage brooches and silk flower corsages to the lapel of otherwise tired-looking jackets to extend their life by months.

If you use up an expensive candle, wash the end of the wax out and use the glass for make-up brushes/cotton wool or to keep jewellery. It's clever storage and looks great.

My mum once told me that there is NO difference between CIF's pommegranate toilet mousse and Morrison's anti bacterial spray- and it's true. I make the sad trip to Morrison every 2 months and stock up on all the basic/house name cleaning and washing products incuding toilet/kitchen paper, gloves and sponges and save a small fortune.
