Investments: BOOKS

Karl Lagerfeld's Library, from the book The Selby Is In Your Place

I use my Fashion books as decorations in my flat: so to me, these are an ultimate investment. I often ask for books for birthdays and Christmas, I love browsing them and having them near me at all times!

Also, if you buy a book with a limited print run, it’s bound to increase in value. A colleague bought the ‘Grace’ book for £80 when it was released 10 years ago. Now, it is worth £800 on ebay.
Currently at over $1,000 on Amazon

I’m hoping the Carine Roitfeld book ‘Irrelevant’ will be worth something in a few years.
£42, Amazon
I stack my books up on shelves, on cabinets, on the floor - anything goes. These are my favourite that I own - they not only look good but I constantly use them for reference:

'Avedon Fashion', £28.80, Amazon

Tim Walker 'Pictures', £40.01, Play

'Kate Moss by Mario Testino, from £31.34, Play
I was reading the above on the tube as I couldn't wait until I got home and was stopped by a woman to have a look as apparently I was getting so much satisfaction out of it!

I bought this for £40 a few years ago and currently you can only buy for £70 used on Amazon
On My Wishlist:

Bruce Weber 'Blood Sweat And Tears' £85, Amazon
Cecil Beaton 'The Art of The Scrapbook', £120, Amazon

  1. Im with you completely, i love my books. And cause we have just sort of settled in our first place together, books are almost furniture. I have got stacks of books with candles on, or in between the mugs on our kitchen shelves, i love them!! Just have to make sure i dust regularly :) xxx
