Chic Storage Solutions

I love storage, compartmentalising and neatness. I'm often asked where I would go for chic storage, so thought I'd share a few of my favourites....

Obviously Ikea is high up on my list:

Shoe cabinet, £100, Ikea

Kraft box, £6.50, Paperchase. I use these to store photos, nail varnishes, contact lenses - anything!

Acrylic storage, £11.50, Muji. I use this to store notecards and jewellery
My whole desk at home and at work is pretty much Muji!
*EDITOR'S TIP* - Ryman do great alternative perspex desk accessories - I kitted out my work desk through Ryman and it looks just as good when on a budget. Clear accessories also make your workspace look bigger.

Acrylic box, £7, Ikea. I use these to store cleaning utensils in my kitchen cabinets
Baskets, £17 for 3, Wilkinson. I use these in my bathroom to store shampoos and conditioners

Butlers is one of those stores in which I love to have a rummage - their kitchen products are great:

Utensil holder, £6.99, Butlers
I love anything zinc, too, and have found TK Maxx Homewares to be great for zinc tins and trays. Sadly, they don't sell online.

Zinc storage with hooks, £28, Rockett St George
My wire mailbox, £16.50, Cox + Cox

On the wishlist:

Zinc mini filing cabinet, £65, Cox + Cox
Bread bags (I'd use for plants or bathroom products), from £11, Rowan + Wren
Also, I love to compartmentalise my bags whilst travelling and just love all of Anya Hindmarch's Labelling:

In Flight bag, £150, Anya Hindmarch
I use zip wallets every time I fly - one for foreign currencies and receipts (especially when travelling with work, so they never get lost) and one with my tickets and passport in, so I can always find them easily.

I usually take my passport in my favourite Etro zip pouch
I've recently noticed how great value Lulu Guiness's zip pouches are, they're great for a special gift:
£55, Lulu Guiness
Wallet, £19, And Other Stories

  1. Thanks for the tip on And Other Stories - not come acros it before and just spent a merry few minutes pinning some lovely bits to my wishlist Pinterest board!

    1. Oh we love And Other Stories...and so glad they sell online as they don't have many stores (yet)

  2. Thanks for the great ideas, I'm off to Rymans to try and sort out my desk!

    1. Oh I haven't been to Hobbycraft for ages! I used to collect rubber stamps years ago and was in there all the time.....most pop back in

  6. Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you're using? I'm going to start my own blog soon but I'm having a hard time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something completely unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!

  8. What I needed was a storage facility that made me feel that my stuff would be secured. What I got was a clean and well-run facility, that sense of security, also a friendly staff to make my comings and goings a pleasant experience.

  9. I would love for my home office to be more coordinated to be honest, but at the end of the day, it's more important to have a good storage solution that works for you rather than having everything matching and aesthetic. I end up making do with whatever odd coloured files and storage bins I have lying around to be honest!
