Little Treat: Birchbox

I love the idea of gifts that keep on giving. My partner bought me a French Vogue subscription for my birthday and I just love seeing it arrive on my doormat.

And now I have found out about Birchbox - a gorgeous box of little beauty treats which you can gift as a subscription.

The perfect gift for the person who has everything...

What I often dislike about these subscription packs is that they sign you into a year, which at £10 a month is rather pricey! THIS one is different - and you can buy a friend a 3 month subscription:

The box is tres chic, and comes wrapped in grey ribbon

My May Birchbox contents

A great way to test recommended and pre-approved products I've not seen or tried before....I love the look of the 'Body Souffle' by B/Attitude

Yes please!

How cute is the mini OPI nail polish?!

All of the products are specially tried and selected by experts and if you become addicted to any, you can also buy online from Birchbox directly.

And afterwards....use the cute box as storage in your drawers:

Other great monthly subscriptions:

ENGAGEMENT:

A subscription of Brides for a year (£24), to help then plan their big day.

HEN GIFT:

How about a subscription between all of the hens from The Knicker Issue?

THE 'HARD TO BUY FOR' MAN:

I bought my boyfriend a yearly subscription from Rough Trade records which went down very well, where they pick the most exciting CD of that month and post it out. They're usually new Artists, so it will be something new, cool, and probably the bonus of not being heard by anyone else. Also available in MP3 version.

THE 'HARD TO BUY FOR' FASHIONISTA:

You can't go wrong with a magazine subscription. And even better, why not an overseas magazine they can't get hold of, like US Harpers, Russh (from Australia) or Nylon?

THE PERSON WHO HAS EVERYTHING:
Most galleries let you buy membership for a year, Tate Membership is great as there a few now across the UK and you automatically get free entry into all those extra exhibitions.

  2. Have you heard of Not Another Bill? They're the best example of an ongoing gift, I'd love to receive a subscription to them as a gift!

  5. I bought my sister a membership to the Moma for a year a few years ago. It's really great because when shows are heavily anticipated and sold out, you get to walk right in.
