Weekend Outfit

The weather certainly wasn't what I hoped for on Sunday, and the wool jacket came out over this lovely dress. I wore it a couple of times in LA though, it's a perfect mix of chic, cool but not too dressy. If wearing on its own, I cinch it in with a slim tan belt to show my waist a bit more.

Dress, Selected Femme, Blazer: New Look. Shoes: Russell + Bromley.

Dress, £70, Selected Femme (did I mention  it has huge, useful pockets?)

£20 (in the sale), Asos

I realised recently that I have, in fact, completely outgrown ballet pumps. There are none in my wardrobe anymore. Slipper shoes and pointed flats feel so much more modern.

This blazer was from New Look a few years ago, it was reduced to £19.99 and I wear it all the time. I love the longer length and it looks great with skinnies.

Did anyone notice I have new glasses? It was about time (and the arm actually fell off my last pair). This shape feels really different for Ray-Ban and although they took a while to get used to, I'm really pleased with them. Although I will be wearing contact lenses for my wedding...

Glasses, Ray-Ban

  1. It is windy and a bit wet here too . I have a day of football tournaments and kids parties ahead of me so I have the old skinny jeans and T on! Love the colours in this dress. x

    1. I've been trying to push myself out of skinnies as I end up wearing them every weekend - but I tried to wear a dress without tights today and it poured - a very bad move!

  2. Hi Alex - I really like your outfit, the dress looks really lovely on you. Can I ask which Russell and Bromley flats you are wearing? Your link goes through to the Smokey Slipper Flats but the ones you are wearing look much more pointed. I really like the ones you are wearing so thought I would ask before I order them! Thanks!

    1. Thanks Anneli! I actually spotted someone wearing this dress in the week too in Farringdon, looking very chic (the same time I spotted Ashton kutcher and Mila Kunis - too much excitement!) x

  4. Hi Alex - LOVE the new glasses!! Wonder what the Mumsnetters will make of them?! ;) I got a new grey wayfarer pair this week and hubby sighed with relief and said 'oh thank goodness - they're not as scary as the other ones!'

Wishing I could wear pointed flats but my lovely wide feet won't let me go there. I just can't find a pair that's comfy enough but keep trying them on everywhere in the hope..

Have a super weekend - get the tights on! x
