Sneak Peek...

Remember my sister Nicky's post on the DIY headboard she made (that is still, to this day the most popular post!)? For those of you that don't, you can see the post here. Well, she's been busy again, this time decorating and turning her spare room into a nursery for her first baby...

My sister and her husband don't know the sex of the baby so they went with neutral colours. The wall colour is Farrow & Ball's 'Blackened'. The cot bed is the 'East Coast' style from Mothercare and was £250 in the sale.
This was an old wooden chest they no longer used, so she painted and changed the handles.
Lights from Cable & Cotton. Shelf and hooks from Ikea.

Wall mount, from Scandi Animals at John Lewis
Re-upholstered an old chest with fabric bought on ebay (£7 a metre) and a staplegun!
£14.99, H+M Home
Baby blanket, £14.99, H+M Home
The finished hooks!

And for extra special bits? Nicky has been on eBay, of course:

Brand new Anya nappy bag, £50, ebay

Brand new with tags Stella McCartney jumper, £10, ebay

  1. If they did a grown up version of the Stella jumper, I'd wear one! Your sister has done a lovely job - it's incredibly satisfying to put something like that together and I like how it's been kept neutral with no particular theme (I cannot do with perfect matchy matchy).

Style and creativity obviously runs in the family.

    1. Aah thanks! She will be thrilled everyone likes it!

  2. Your sister's baby is going to have one cool, stylish room! I adore those lights from cable and cotton, I like how long they are they create a stunning effect and that cute jumper...exciting times!

    1. Hopefully the baby will have a cool auntie, too! I can't wait!!

  3. Oh my gosh I just love the cute little hangers. This gives me another perspective on the idea of painting a baby's room predominately in one color. This neutral mix looks great and it's less stressful on the senses. Cute cot too.

  4. That's a cute little crib.
