Bobbi's Girl...

I've been a Bobbi girl for a couple of years now, ever since I was lucky enough to work with Bobbi herself in New York for a shoot with Red magazine. I am now hooked (see my makeover post here and my wedding make-up here). In this photo are a few of their products I couldn't live without...

Extra Soothing Balm - I'm a lip balm fiend and this one works - it's soothing and relaxing too, I always take this on long flights.

Nectar Shimmer Brick - a blusher/bronzer with a hint of shimmer, for when you need something a little special.

Glitter nail polish - I wore this for my wedding - I wanted something that would go with everything (I went on honeymoon the next day), looked a little fancy and was hard-wearing. This exact one is sold out but they sell similar ones, here.

Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara - this mascara has changed how I feel about make-up. I have quite oily skin and would always find black under my eyes throughout the day. It never happens with this one.

'Veil' shimmer powder - this was part of a Limited Edition Bridal collection and I just adore it - adds a natural shimmer to anywhere you want. I dot on my cheekbones and eyelids when I fancy a little pick me up.

The best thing about Bobbi Brown? Their amazing make-overs and tutorials. I was chatting to a fellow Frugality reader only last week who was seeing an advisor before her wedding. It's the perfect wedding look: dewy, glowing skin and fresh eye make-up. So, of course the clever people at BB HQ have developed an amazing "Ask Bobbi" App whereby you can follow tutorials on your phone:

I need the glasses tutorial!

With our YouTube generation, it just makes sense, I never realised how useful make-up tutorials were until recently (I've only just joined the youtube crowd). With "ASK Bobbi" You can follow tutorials, buy the products straight through the app, book a lesson in-store (whereby the app syncs it to your calendar) where it saves your recommended products from your appointment and logs all your purchases to make it easy to re-buy, whilst also recommending new ones.

AND...it's free. You can download it here.

  3. After my daughters bridal trial we bought a total of 5 eyeshadows, 2 lipsticks, 1 blusher and 1 foundation over three separate visits to various counters in the lead up to the wedding last Friday, about £250 in total - yikes! My daughter didn't go with the original eye make-up from the trail as felt it was too dark but other than that we were both pleased with our trials and purchases.
