Frugal City Guide: Ibiza {Part Two}

Cala Tarida beach
Dress (available in cream), $158, Velvet by Graham Spencer. Sandals: Ancient Greek Sandals (sold out)
Ibiza: possibly the only time you will catch me in a kimono. £29.50, Marks + Spencer. Bikini: H&M (sold out). Sandals: £45, Solillas at Office
We took so many photos on our recent trip that I had to split up these posts into two sections. So this post is mainly about the things 'to do' in Ibiza.

Breakfast at Sensatori Hotel. Wearing top: £69, Monsoon

SLUIZ - Another of Deborah Brett's fabulous recommendations, I missed out on going to Sluiz on last year's Ibiza trip (Erica from The Edited and Laura from WIT went and I remember being so jealous).

Hat: H&M (sold out). Top: £69, MonsoonShorts: £30, River Island.  Sandals: £45, Solillas.
It's basically the shop of my dreams. A huge warehouse style shop with tons of bits and bobs, furniture, homewares, crockery - it even has a cafe and a food section (I bought a packet of black truffle crisps that I've since managed to hunt down on Amazon - but my bank balance is NOT pleased).

The famous Hammam towels everyone was asking about on Instagram

I bought a neon wool fringed cushion to lift all our grey interiors, the best crisps I have ever tasted and a Hammam beach towel - but I was really restrained - I was thinking about my luggage allowance, to be honest! I could've spent all day there.

*FRUGAL UPDATE* - I have just been informed that you can actually buy Sluiz at Amara! This is the exact cushion I bought (would've saved a lot of baggage problems):

Cushion: £38, Sluiz at Amara

LAS DALIAS - I was dubious of Ibiza's traditional hippy market, but we had a really lovely day here. A lot of the stalls had things I wanted - locally made dresses and kids clothes, but there are also lots of juice bars, food stalls and rides for kids - a great place to break up your trip.

Dress: £35, Next. Sandals: Asos (sold out but buy similar here). Towel: Sluiz
I bought this dress so long ago, but this was my first chance to wear it!

BAR ANITA - one of our favourite spots to eat, it's up the road from Las Dalias (by car) and has a great atmosphere. Known for being favoured by resident hippies and artists in the 70s, it is packed all day long and serving great seafood, delicious pizzas and aioli I am still thinking about whilst typing this.

Sunglasses: £56, Mr Boho at Suitehazen. Dress: Lem Lem at Beach Cafe (buy similar in the sale here)
DALT VILA - The beautiful fortress in the Old Town is not to be missed. The buzz from all the outside tables, the views over the city and the can simply spend the evening walking around (ice cream in hand) or trying out all the stunning restaurants.

Dress: £85, Pampelone. Sandals: Asos (sold out but buy similar here). Clutch: Primark

Cocktails in La Mezcaleria (above) go down a treat - the Bloody Mezcal was spot on. And La Bodega, for dinner, is just at the bottom of the fortress (see my previous post here).

LAS SALINAS - Now this was about as party as we got...we went one late afternoon for the sunset (which sadly was the one evening it was non-existent) and sat in front of Sa Trinxa beach bar. You can buy drinks from the bar but there are also local sellers selling cans you can buy cheaply along the beach, too (don't tell anyone I told you!).

Dress: Lem Lem at Beach Cafe (buy similar in the sale here)
The people-watching is insane, we had such a good time just listening to the music and watching party-goers on the beach, preparing for their night out.

Relaxing at Sa Trinxa. Bikini: £28, TopshopSunglasses: £56, Mr Boho at Suitehazen. Earrings: Primark. Nails: Mavala 'Cobalt Blue'Husband: My Own

  1. Completely adore your Ibiza guides Alex, I love the insider knowledge and the hotel looks utterly stunning. This is now on my list to go for a weekend away with the husband sans kids! The video is beautiful, completely sealed the deal for me, so tranquil and sunny but then you can dip in and out the buzz as and when you want..perfect! xx

    1. Thank you, Frances! Yes totally loved it - perfect spot with or without kids, to be honest! If you do go, the restaurants I've mentioned were amazing perfect food, price and atmosphere (something I desperately seek out) x

  2. Nice sandals :)
