2. Making plans. As another year comes to a close, we are on the cusp on a new year and I love looking forward to what's ahead. I buy an Aspinal diary every year and enjoy filling in new dates and potential holidays. We are hoping for 2016 to hold another New York trip, for sure...

4. Cocktails and cashmere. I know it's okay to wear/drink these all year round, but there's something special about Christmas where life just slows down a bit and you get the chance to really enjoy these special moments.

6. Being creative. Last year, my sister and I made our own wreaths (see the post here). This year I made one at the Next Christmas party, and we placed it inside these copper geometric wreaths (£22 from Next). It comes with lights attached and I'm looking forward to it being a permanent part of my Christmas.
7. Forced fun. It takes a lot for me to book things these days, work and general 'busy-ness' just gets in the way. But with so many wonderful things going on at this time of the year, and the weather being so mild, it's the perfect opportunity to enjoy some quality time with family and friends. Ice skating at The Natural History Museum, watching 'It's a Wonderful Life' with the Underground Film Club (my husband had never seen it) and hot chocolate at Fortnum's Lodge at Somerset House - I've never felt so festive.
