Obonjan

Bag: The White Company (sold out). Towel: £22, Wood/Grey. Suede backless shoes: Vagabond (sold out but available in black here).
There's a special island, just 45 minutes by boat off the coast of Sibenik, where I left my heart last weekend. It's a small island which, for 6 weeks every year, is host to a gorgeous festival of camping, wellness, good music and (a little bit of) partying: Obonjan. But what we loved was that you could get involved as little or as much as you liked. 6am yoga? Not for us, we preferred to chill by the port and sip iced coffees. But 10pm live planetarium outside our tents? Our kind of thing.

Dress: H&M (old). Bag: Accessorize (sold out). Sandals: £22, AsosHat: £30, AsosSunglasses: £28 in the sale, Le Specs at Very Exclusive.

And the best thing about the island? It's not for the ridiculously wealthy (speaking of wealthy, rumours were that Roman Abramovich had docked in Sibenik when we arrived)...

We were glamping, our tent (and view) was lovely, there were actual beds (not inflatable) and the communal washrooms were super clean and I only ever saw a queue of 2 people for a shower. And it was from €59 per person a night for a tent and access to all activities (the cabins are from €71 per person and have ensuite).

We saw Hot 8 Brass Band perform in the ampitheatre, watched 'Big' on the outside cinema screen, stargazed whilst working on our night-time photography and drank cocktails overlooking the port. It was one of our best weekends this year, and probably cost less than a weekend in Port Eliot pseudo-glamping with an inflatable mattress.

Large suitcase: £185, Kipling. Small suitcase: £129, Muji

Top: And Other Stories (old). Dungarees: Comptoir des Cotonniers (sold out). Suede backless shoes: Vagabond (sold out but available in black here). Sunglasses: £152, Ray-Ban

Due to the island's capacity, there was no overcrowding as you usually get at festivals. We could easily get a table at dinner, always get a sunlounger either by the pool or the port, or space on one of the small beaches (possibly our favourite spot) and there was plenty of room to move and dance to the live music. There are massages too, but best to book these.

Sunglasses: £152, Ray-Ban. Suncream with shimmer effect: £6.99, Hawaiian Tropic. Surf infusion oil spray: £9.50, Bumble & Bumble

Bracelet: Cadenzza

Shirt dress: £125, Gant at House of Fraser. Sandals: £135 in the sale, LK Bennett. Hat: £30, AsosBasket bag: The White Company (sold out). Sunglasses: £28 in the sale, Le Specs at Very Exclusive.

I would point out that our tent was on the South part of the island, which was the furthest from the sunloungers but also the furthest away from the music venues (some go on until 3am) and we slept soundly. We went to one bar at 10:30pm and it still wasn't even getting going, and we never made it out much later - I blame the sea air! So maybe check where your tent is located depending on what you're after.

Earrings: £35, Pomme Pomme London. Dress: £110, PampeloneBag: The White Company (sold out). Towel: £22, Wood/Grey. Sandals: £135 in the sale, LK Bennett.

Food-wise, everything was relatively healthy with lots of vegan options and almond milk (!), but you can still get steak and chips. Prices, being Croatia, luckily, aren't too extortionate. I would say gastropub prices for dinner and there are more relaxed pizza and curry places for cheaper alternatives.

Dungarees: Comptoir des Cotonniers (sold out). Bikini: Topshop (old). Basket bag: The White Company (old). Sandals: £35, Teva.
The best item of clothing I took with me? My Teva sandals...I packed them last minute as they're great airport shoes (the comfiest sandals I own), but on the rocky, gritty terrain of Croatia there were hardly any other pair I wanted to wear (especially on the early morning bathroom trips when I was still half asleep!).

The water in Croatia is like nowhere else...

Dress: £110, PampeloneBag: J Crew (sold out). Sandals: £135 in the sale, LK Bennett.
Hot 8 Brass Band

Camille Walala art was painted on the side of buildings, this was the local shop

The local store got me wishing I'd brought more money and luggage space! Expertly curated, with all my favourite brands Pampelone, Haeckels, Prism and Etre Cecile, it was so stylish it made me rethink my entire wardrobe.

So if you're looking for an amazing weekend away, or heading to Croatia and want a few nights of something totally different, this is it. We went for 3 nights and we felt it was the right amount of time and the perfect way to eek out summer that little bit longer...

*We were guests of Obonjan and offered a tent on the island for 3 nights. We paid for our flights and extras.

    1. The island is only open end of July to early September but I have been to Croatia before in October and the weather was divine! The only thing was that it was off season so very quiet, almost ghost town at night...and then cruise ships docked in the day (on the mainland) and it was overrun with pensioners! Still beautiful though!
