Have you ever bought anything simply for the ‘gram? This is something I discussed with Fran (The Fashion Lift) at my Bella Freud event, and we both admitted to doing so. First off, I will say, I loved these shoes – they’re a total Miu Miu dupe and for the price I knew I couldn’t go wrong. But I’d be lying if I said it didn’t cross my mind that they’d make a great photo on Instagram, too.
But is this a bad thing…? If anything, Instagram makes me a better dresser, everything is a bit more considered – but always in my style. Sometimes I get excited by an outfit that is ‘totally instagrammable’, but it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t wear it anyway.
With the recent Vogue criticism of (their definition of) Bloggers and Influencers, it does put into question how we dress and who we’re doing it for. And I for one have always worn what I love and bought most of my clothes (and proud of it). I do occasionally get gifted as I work in the industry but have, hand on heart, never worn anything that I didn’t love or believe in. And I bought these Topshop shoes last month and couldn’t wait to blog about them. Mainly because this community of like-minded individuals who read my website, I believe, would love them too.
Anyway, back to the sparkly, glittery shoes…which have a walkable heel! And I am (hopefully) proving that leopard and glitter can be worn together in a chic way.
I’m wearing an LK Bennett silk blouse with this look today. At my style talk with Grazia last week about workwear, I mentioned that a washed silk shirt was one of my true wardrobe staples. With rolled up sleeves, it’s the perfect work piece, but looks so good with jeans and long gold necklaces too. I have just bought a Sezane one in black too, which I will wear with black skinny jeans when I pretend to be Emanuelle Alt (who we also heralded as our style Queen at the talk!). They’re a bit pricey but 100% worth the money.

And, of course, you can follow my Instagram here (no pressure…but I do tend to post my outfits on there first, these days). And these shoes were a hit.

I bought a different pair of sparkly shoes from Top Shop the other day and loved wearing them for work with jeans! Speaking of which, I love those Gap Vintage Straight jeans so much. They are in the sale at the moment but seemingly only instore. I got two pairs for £15 each!
Love the glitter shoes, so pretty! Sophie x

Love the outfit and the blog. Speaking of washed silk shirts I've found the ones from & other stories to be very reliable, and totally ok being washed in the machine (on delicate) which makes me so much more likely to actually wear them.
Love your shoes!
I love this coat
Those shoes are everything! So cute and not too high either!
Sparkly shoes and boy fit jeans for the win! I can't believe you found the jeans on sale, such a bargain!
Oh I love And Other Stories – such great quality! And really good for unexpected workwear pieces!
And that's the dream, right?! x
